Sweet Noodle Pop

The one and only studio album from anisong group Little By Little. Most tracks are upbeat theme songs from popular anime or dramas, and as a result there’s an absence of “that one slow song you tend to skip” in the album. I wish that キミモノガタリ were a track that was included – as that would make it more or less “the definitive album” for this artist. But alas, that track was released after this album was. The lead singer uses very high-pitched vocals, which I personally have become more sensitive to over time – if you’re of the same opinion, then you may not like this album. However, there’s a bunch of classics here. If you were an anime fan back in the 2000s, you might be able to rediscover some memories!

Personal Note: This album has a special place in my heart – it was the first J-Pop album I ever acquired. At the time, I was in my “Naruto Phase” and 悲しみをやさしさに (on the album) was my favorite song. I hadn’t heard most of the other tracks – mostly due to poor availability of J-Pop in the US at the time. So when I heard a relative was visiting Japan, I asked them to get this album if they came across in it in their travels. It was one of my earliest album acquisitions, and at a time when people still had CD players sitting around. It was the perfect storm to have been able to make fond memories while listening to it in the background of the after-school club I participated in during middle school.
